designed trash house as generally shown on the print of drawing 76042-1. Each cyclone cleaner assembly shall consist generally of the
following:
- 1. A plenum fabricated from formed 12 gauge members all welded to make a structural frame work sufficiently rigid to support 4"
I-beam bellows track, cantilevered load of extendible bellows assembly and imposed load of side duct work. Unit to be mounted on
12 gauge formed leg assembly. Each leg to have a 3/8" thick base plate drilled to receive 1/2" diameter cinch anchor bolts.
- 2. Bellows assembly fabricated from heavy neoprene 16 oz. nylon reinforced impregnated vinyl, constructed with aluminum stays and
mounting strips to form an accordion type retractable assembly. Foam rubber padding covered with the same material as used for the
bellows firmly attached to the outer perimeter of the bellows to assure proper fit to the vehicle door. The complete assembly shall be
hung from a swivel suspension frame attached to overhead trolley tracks riding on overhead rails, an integral part of the plenum
housing requiring no additional outside supports.
- 3. (2) Trunnion mount air cylinders - (1) 2" bore x 24" stroke, (1) 2" bore x 27" stroke.
- 4. Air controls factory mounted and piped on side of plenum housing including air solenoid control valve, adjustable flow control,
moisture trap, air reducing valve and air cylinder lubricator.
- 5. Fan Unit - (2) special 28" diameter, 5-steel blade type propellers, driven by 5 horsepower air-over motors for operation on
208/230/460 volt, 3 phase, 60 hertz current. Each fan to be capable of moving 10,000 CFM free air. Air movement through bus to
be 20,000 CFM. Fans to be mounted in aerodynamically designed orifice ring. Orifice rings to be part of a 12 gauge formed housing.
Housing or fan box to have an access panel sized to permit maintenance of motors. Housing to be flanged for gasket, and bolted
connection to trash house and Buck cleaner.
- 6. Prewired control panel in NEMA #12 enclosure with all motor starters, relays, fuse blocks, terminal strips, and mainline through the
door disconnect switch.
- 7. (2) Air sweep handguns supplied with 50'-0" of heavy duty 3/8" air hose.
- 8. (2) Projector type floodlights complete with swivel receptacles for lighting step well of bus.
- 9. Wetting spray assembly consisting of galvanized pipe, complete with nozzles properly programmed to wet down debris and dust
inside trash house when unit is in operation, equipped with a normally closed flow of water to spray nozzles while unit is operating.
- 10. Trash house to be fabricated in sections. The lower support section to utilize 4" square tubing on 1/2" base plates as upright legs.
Trash ramp and chute to be framed with 4" channel structure. Ramp and chute to be a 10 gauge weldment. Trash chute to discharge
into a lower room sized for a 5'-8" x 4'-0" wide x 4'-6" high trash container. Upper and lower sections of trash house fabricated with
monolithic fiberglass reinforced plywood panels. Stated material shall be 3/4" CC Grade APA plywood with exterior glue, reinforced
with 18 oz. per yard woven roving fiberglass bonded to wood with an interior/exterior finish of Dupont Tedlar Film 1.5 mils thick,
color white.
All splice plates and corners to be 10 gauge formed galvanized through-bolted and caulked with exterior weather proof polysulfide caulking.
Roof of trash house fitted with (10) galvanized roof panels consisting of angular frame and galvanized 1/2-16 mesh hardware cloth.
Finish
All fabricated sections of lower house assembly, upper house support assembly, roof can and screen supports, shroud box assembly,
carriage trash and trolley, bellows frame, fan guard, cylinder brackets and trolley support shall be hot-dipped galvanized after fabrication per
ASTM A123 or A385. Metallic surfaces not suitable for galvanizing shall be coated with 95% zinc primer and covered with durable machine
enamel. Erection bolts shall be plated and Grade 5.
Drawings, Erection and Operation
Provide shop drawings for approval of the architect as specified, and as soon as practical after receipt of formal order. Provide foundation
drawings to be followed by complete roughing-in drawings for electrical wiring, plumbing and air piping to serve the unit. Before substantial
